Croatian Civil Engineering Institute was founded in 1949. as Laboratory of Civil Engineering Zagreb to support operations in maintaining and improving the quality of construction works. The present name Institut gets 1956th year, and six years later he was awarded the status of scientific institutions.

To meet the growing needs of the Construction Institute in 1961. and 1962. year established regional offices in major regional centers: Split, Rijeka and Osijek.

In order to relieve the central laboratory in Zagreb and branch offices, and to provide faster service builders, the Institute opened in the period since 1967. to 1973. The permanent field laboratory in Sisak, Karlovac, Dubrovnik, Pula, Zadar and Varazdin.

1977th The Institute teams up with industrial, University of Zagreb in a single RO Building Institute, which optimally combines his scientific research and professional activities.


1991st The Institute is under new legislation
separated from the faculty and re-take the old name of the Institute
Croatian Civil Engineering "IGH" Zagreb.

Today is "IGH" d.d. At the end of 1995th The "IGH" d.o.o. Zagreb has created the company in BiH, based in Mostar, with the identical business. The company began operations in March 1996. year. Central Laboratory with modern equipment was opened 30.04.1997. year.

Dana 28.06.2007. year, was officially opened a new office building IGH-doo MOSTAR Bišće the field, in the industrial zone at the southern entrance of Mostar. The facility, measuring approximately 2,000 meters square is the latest laboratory and other equipment that will provide a greater level of expertise in the construction industry, particularly quality control and supervision.

Today IGH-MOSTAR organized through five departments (see "Organization"), which employs 40 workers. In recent years significantly expanded and planning activities in the field of road construction, geotechnical and water engineering, as well as environmental protection.
